Condolences Pamela White

We regret to say that we were made aware of the death of PRSJ Member, Mrs Pamela White, who passed away on February 15. Pamela White was employed in community relations at the bauxite mining company, Jamalco, a subsidiary of Alcoa.

Colleague, Jamalco Manager-Corporate Services and Government Affairs, Leo Lambert, says of her, "Pam was an employer's dream and one of Jamalco's brightest stars. Her example will forever live in our hearts even as we struggle to come to terms with this most painful loss. Jamalco will be coordinating several initiatives in her memory."

As a communications practitioner for some two decades, Mrs White was known for her joyful demeanour as she performed an enabling role in the development in her beloved parish, Clarendon.

During her employment at the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) May Pen regional office in the 1990s, Mrs White was a part of a very dynamic team that passionately served communities from Frankfield to Portland Cottage. They brought information, planned events and took the word out about the good activities happening there to Jamaica and to the rest of the world.

Clarendon has lost a bright spark and a dutiful daughter.

We pray for comfort for Pamela White's family, friends, colleagues and the citizens of Clarendon.

  1. Ahh, how sad. I remember Pam White from her assignment with the JIS in Ocho Rios in the early 1990s and she was always very pleasant and truly professional.

I thought of her recently as I had reason to engage the services of the JIS across Jamaica and to hear of her passing so soon after that thought is poignant.

    Rest well, Pam!

  2. So very sad.
I remember Pam as a tireless, modest, pleasant, high quality performer.
I had the great fortune of working very closely with her both as my colleague at the JIS, and in her capacity as client representative when, as a young entrepreneur, Jamalco took pride of place on my roster.
My heartfelt condolences to her family.
As a Society we should find some way to honour her memory...maybe through that long overdue central Jamaica chapter!

  3. I mourn Pam's passing. JAMALCO has lost the cornerstone of its PR and outreach initiatives and programmes into the mining belt communities of central Jamaica.

I will remember her smiling eyes and receptive spirit that projected an engaging personality, underpinned by consummate professionalism and well honed technical skills.

JAMALCO and the PR/Business Communications industry have lost a fine professional. May her legacy long endure in the hearts and minds of the many lives she touched.
